LEGAL STUFF
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 6 November 2026
TL;DR
- You can play without creating an account.
- Our games collect device and gameplay info so they can run, get better and show ads.
- You only get personalised ads if you allow them.
- We promote our games on Google, Meta, TikTok and AppLovin and with creators, and use Adjust to see which campaigns work.
- We never sell your information for money, and we never see your card details.
- If you want your data deleted, email us and we'll do it within 30 days.
01The basics
This Privacy Policy explains what information MemeMuffin ("MemeMuffin", "we", "us") handles when you play our mobile games, visit mememuffin.com or contact us. It also explains the choices you have.
It covers every game we publish under the MemeMuffin name on Google Play and other app stores (our "Games"), unless a game shows its own privacy notice. MemeMuffin is responsible (the "controller") for the personal information described here. If something is unclear, email hello@mememuffin.com.
02What we collect
When you play
Our Games and the tools built into them collect some information from your device automatically:
| TYPE | EXAMPLES | WHY |
|---|---|---|
| Device & app | Device model, operating system, language, time zone, game version | Run the game properly, check compatibility, fix bugs |
| Identifiers | Android Advertising ID or App Set ID, app instance IDs; on iOS, the IDFA only if you allow tracking | Deliver and measure ads, limit repeat ads, prevent fraud, analytics |
| Rough location | Country or region worked out from your IP address. We don't use GPS. | Show the right consent options, language and relevant ads |
| Gameplay | Levels reached, session length, in-game events, settings, saved progress | Save your progress, balance and improve our Games |
| Diagnostics | Crash reports, performance and error logs | Find and fix crashes |
| Campaign data | Which ad, link or creator brought you to the Game, plus key in-game events such as installs, purchases or levels reached | See which marketing works and improve our campaigns |
| Purchases | What you bought, when, and the store's order ID | Deliver items and help with purchase issues |
| Your choices | Consent and privacy settings | Remember and respect your choices |
Payments are handled entirely by Google Play or the app store you use. We never receive your card number or bank details.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you include, your message and any attachments or details you choose to send, such as a player ID or screenshots.
When you work with us as a creator
If you partner with us on a campaign, we handle your name, email, social media handles, the channel statistics you share with us, the content you make for us, and your invoicing and payment details. We use them to run the partnership and pay you.
When you visit mememuffin.com
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of the visit. The site's fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when it delivers them. The website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. If we ever add them, we'll ask for your consent first.
03What we don't collect
- No account, real name or phone number is needed to play.
- We don't access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise GPS location.
- We don't ask for sensitive information such as health data, religion or political views.
- We never handle payment card data.
If a future Game needs a device permission (for example, the camera for a photo filter), it will ask you in the app and explain why first.
04How we use it
- To run our Games, save your progress and deliver what you buy.
- To understand how our Games are played, then improve, test and rebalance them.
- To find and fix crashes and technical problems.
- To show ads, measure how they perform, limit how often you see the same one, and stop ad fraud.
- To promote our Games, measure which ads and creator campaigns bring in players, and run partnerships with creators.
- To answer your messages and support requests.
- To keep our Games fair and secure, enforce our Terms of Service and meet legal obligations.
We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Our legal grounds (EEA, UK & Switzerland)
- Contract: to provide the Games you choose to play and the items you buy, and to run creator partnerships.
- Consent: for personalised ads, for campaign measurement where the law requires consent, and for any optional tracking. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: for non-personalised ads that keep our Games free, aggregated analytics, measuring our marketing where consent isn't required, security, fraud prevention and support. You can object to this.
- Legal obligation: for tax records and for responding to lawful requests from authorities.
05Ads & your choices
Ads keep most of our Games free. Some are optional "rewarded" ads: you choose to watch one and get an in-game bonus in return. You decide how ads use your data:
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: on first launch you'll see a consent screen built on Google's consent tools and the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. You can change your choice later under Privacy settings in the game menu.
- Android: go to your device settings (usually Settings › Privacy › Ads or Settings › Google › Ads) to reset or delete your advertising ID.
- iOS (if we release there): you'll see Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can change it anytime under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- United States: see Your rights to opt out of targeted advertising.
Turning off personalisation doesn't remove ads. It makes them less tailored to you. The same settings also control whether your device's advertising ID can be used to measure our own marketing campaigns.
07Data across borders
Our partners work worldwide, so your information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. When data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on adequacy decisions (such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or Standard Contractual Clauses, along with each partner's own safeguards.
08How long we keep it
- Gameplay and analytics events: up to 14 months, then deleted or aggregated so they no longer identify you.
- Crash reports: about 90 days.
- Cloud saves (if a Game offers them): while you keep playing, and deleted after 24 months of inactivity or when you ask.
- Support emails: up to 18 months after the conversation ends.
- Creator partnership records: for the length of the partnership, then as long as contract and tax law require.
- Purchase and accounting records: as long as tax law requires.
Ad networks, ad platforms and Adjust keep data according to their own policies.
09Your rights
Everyone
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent. It's free, and we reply within 30 days. If a request is complex we may need longer, and we'll tell you if so. We may ask for something that links you to the data, such as the player ID shown in a Game's settings.
EEA, UK & Switzerland
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
United States
Depending on your state (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas or Oregon), you may have the right to know what we collect, and to access, delete or correct it. You may also be able to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your data and of targeted advertising. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. In the last 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (advertising IDs, IP address), internet activity (gameplay, ad interactions and campaign data), approximate location, commercial information (purchase records) and inferences used for advertising.
To opt out, switch off personalised ads in a Game's privacy settings, reset or delete your device's advertising ID, or email us with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share". Our website honours Global Privacy Control signals. An authorised agent may make requests for you. We don't knowingly sell or share the data of anyone under 16.
Everywhere else
We'll respect whatever rights your local law gives you.
10Delete my data
Email hello@mememuffin.com with the subject "Delete my data". Include the Game's name and your player ID (from the Game's settings, if available) or your device's advertising ID. We'll delete your data within 30 days and confirm by email. We may keep records the law requires, such as purchase records for tax.
Uninstalling a Game stops any new data collection. For data already held by ad networks, ad platforms or Adjust, reset your advertising ID or contact them directly.
11Kids & families
We make games for players of all ages, so we take children's privacy seriously.
- Where a Game is directed at children or includes them in its target audience (for example through Google Play's Families program), we don't show personalised ads, don't track behaviour for advertising, don't send data to ad platforms for campaign measurement, and only use tools certified for family apps.
- We don't collect advertising IDs from children under 13, or under the age of digital consent in their country.
- We never ask children for personal details like their name, email or phone number.
- General-audience Games may ask your age in a neutral way and apply these protections automatically.
We follow COPPA (US), the GDPR's rules for children, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and the Google Play Families Policy. If you're a parent and think your child has shared personal information with us, email us and we'll delete it.
12Keeping it safe
We encrypt data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), limit who can access it, use reputable providers and collect as little as we can. No system is 100% secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
13Other sites & services
Ads and links in our Games or on our website may take you to sites and apps we don't run. Their own privacy policies apply there, so check them.
14Changes
When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the Game or on our website before it takes effect, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
